Can you correct NID details online?
Important Limitation:
As of March 2026, you cannot fully correct NID details online once biometrics are submitted. You must visit the DAO in person. Online editing is only possible before your biometric appointment.
Common Correction Scenarios
1. Name or Date of Birth Errors
Visit DAO OnlyIf the operator made a typo during your biometric session.
Requirement: Original Citizenship Certificate. You must visit the District Administration Office (DAO) where you first applied.
2. Address Change (Migration)
Visit New DAOIf you have moved to a new district permanently.
Requirement: Migration Certificate (Basai Sarai). You can apply for this at the DAO of your new district.
3. Adding Spouse Details
Visit DAOUpdating your NID after marriage.
Requirement: Marriage Registration Certificate and Spouse's Citizenship/NID copy.

Pro Tips
- Check the Screen: Always ask the operator to show you the screen before they hit submit.
- The Token Slip: Keep your receipt/token slip safe; you need the Request Number to track corrections.
- Timing: Corrections typically take 15-30 days to reflect in the central system.
