College Overview: Pioneering Excellence in Animal and Aquatic Sciences

The Faculty of Animal Science, Veterinary Science and Fisheries (FAVF) stands as a cornerstone of the Agriculture and Forestry University (AFU) in Rampur, Chitwan. Established as the first technical university in Nepal focused on agriculture-related disciplines, the FAVF represents the pinnacle of veterinary and animal husbandry education in the country. It was founded with the strategic vision of modernizing Nepal's livestock and fisheries sectors through advanced research, high-quality education, and effective extension services.

History and Evolution

The roots of FAVF trace back to the Institute of Agriculture and Animal Science (IAAS) under Tribhuvan University. In 2010, the Government of Nepal integrated the IAAS Rampur Campus and the Forestry Campus Hetauda to form the Agriculture and Forestry University. FAVF emerged as a dedicated faculty to address the growing demand for specialized professionals in animal health, production, and aquatic resource management. Today, it is recognized globally for its rigorous academic standards and its role in ensuring food security and public health through the 'One Health' approach.

Our Mission

To produce highly competent human resources in the fields of Animal Science, Veterinary Medicine, and Fisheries who can contribute to the sustainable development of the livestock and aquaculture sectors through innovative research, ethical practice, and community engagement.

Our Vision
